Quality control: the limits we work to
| Moisture | < 5% |
|---|
| Water activity (Aw) | ≤ 0.30 |
|---|
| Particle / cut size | 6-12 mm typical, matched components |
|---|
| Blend ratio | Controlled by weight, tolerance +/- 2% |
|---|
| Total plate count | < 10,000 CFU/g (typical limit, batch COA confirms) |
|---|
| Coliforms | < 10 CFU/g |
|---|
| Yeast and mould | < 100 CFU/g |
|---|
| Salmonella | Negative in 25 g |

| Heavy metals | Pb < 0.5 mg/kg, Cd < 0.2 mg/kg |
|---|
| Foreign matter | None; X-ray and metal detection on every lot |

Values above are the standard specification for this range. The certificate of analysis issued with each lot states the measured result, and we will quote tighter limits where your own HACCP plan requires them.
How a custom blend project runs
We start from your concept: target cost per kilogram, ratio, cut size, colour and packaging. Samples are produced in small batches for sensory and line trials, then the approved sample becomes the reference standard for production.
Blends are mixed in defined batch sizes with ratio checks, and each lot keeps a retained sample for traceability. Seasonal or promotional variants can be produced from the same approved components.
Private label and packaging
Complete private label support is available: pouch and carton printing, nitrogen flushing, sachet filling, barcode and nutrition panel, lot coding and export documentation.
Components are selected and cut so they rehydrate within a similar time window, which is verified during sampling before production starts.
Frequently asked questions
Can you match a blend we already buy elsewhere?
Ja. Send a sample or a specification with ratios and cut sizes and we will reverse-engineer the blend, then produce a trial batch for comparison.
Is there a minimum for a custom blend?
Custom blends start from trial quantities so you can evaluate before scaling. The commercial minimum depends on component availability and packaging.
Can components have different rehydration times?
They should not. We select and cut components so they rehydrate within a similar time window, and we test this during sampling.
Do you supply retail-ready mixed packs?
Ja, including printed pouches and cartons with your artwork and regulatory panel.
Can the ratio be changed between production runs?
Ja. Once a ratio is fixed it stays as the approved standard, but new ratios can be set up as separate specifications when you launch a variant.
Can we set our own blend ratio?
Ja. Send the target ratio by weight and the cut size for each component, and we will produce a sample for approval. Ratios are held to about plus or minus 2% by weight, and the approved sample becomes the reference for every later batch.
Why do the components in a blend sometimes separate in the bag?
Fine powder and large dice settle at different rates during transport. We minimise it by matching component sizes, and for retail packs we recommend a carton that stays upright plus a note to shake before use.
What is the minimum order for a custom blend?
500 kg for a custom ratio, lower if it uses components already in production. Trial quantities are accepted so your team can run a fill and shelf-life test before committing to a full run.
